  • Consultation on Proposed Main Modifications to the West London Waste Plan
    Following the recent public hearings into the plan, the council has published Proposed Main Modifications to the West London Waste Plan for consultation. The consultation starts on 7 November 2014 and will run for six weeks until midnight on 19 December 2014. 

    Representations are invited on the "soundness" and "legal compliance" of the Proposed Main Modifications. The Inspector is particularly interested in hearing views on the implications of the recently published national waste planning policy and guidance on the West London Waste Plan as proposed to be modified. In response to the new policy and guidance, the Boroughs have produced an updated "National Policy Consistency Statement". Visit www.wlwp.net to find out more and how to make a comment.

  • Copies of Part 1 of the Local Plan have been printed and are now available for reference use at all borough Libraries and One Stop offices as well as in the Planning Reception office at Uxbridge Civic Centre.

 


Local Plan: Part 1

Hillingdon Local Plan: Part 1- Strategic Policies' (previously known as the Core Strategy) was adopted by the Council on 8 November 2012.

The Hillingdon Local Plan: Part 1- Strategic Policies sets out the key elements of the planning framework for the borough over the next 15 years. It comprises a spatial vision, strategic objectives, a spatial strategy, core policies and a monitoring and implementation framework with clear objectives for achieving delivery. Copies of Part 1 of the Local Plan are available for reference use at all borough Libraries and at Planning Information Services, Civic Centre, Uxbridge.

Local Plan: Part 2

The Council has prepared a Proposed Submission version of the Local Plan Part 2 will comprise the following documents:

The Local Plan Part 2 is to be published for public comment under Regulation 19 of the Town and Country Planning (Local Plan) (England) Regulations between 22 September to 4 November 2014. Following the conclusion of this process the documents will be submitted to the Secretary of State for Communities and Local Government for independent examination. The  Sustainability appraisal  is a statutory requirement and an integral part of the preparation of Local Plan Documents . 

In addition, a number of background evidence base studies were prepared to underpin the policies and proposals in the Local Plan Part 1.

 

Current Documents in the Development Plan

Until the Local Plan Part 2 and West London Waste Plan are finally adopted, the development plan for the borough comprises:

  1. The Hillingdon Local Plan: Part 1- Strategic Policies;  
  2. The extant 2007 Saved Unitary Development Plan policies adopted as the Hillingdon Local Plan: Part Two; and
  3. The London Plan published by the Mayor of London in July 2011.

Copies of Part 1 of the Local Plan are available for reference use at all borough Libraries and One Stop offices as well as in the Planning Reception office at Uxbridge Civic Centre.

Regulation 19 consultation completed

Regulation 22 Submission of Plan completed (July 30)

Regulation 24 Independent Examination of the Plan commenced in August 2014. The appointed Planning Inspector conducted public hearings from 7 October to 10 October 2014.

Following the public hearings, the Boroughs have published their Proposed Main Modifications to the West London Waste Plan for a six week consultation period running from Friday 7 November to midnight on Friday 19 December 2014. Views on the implications of the recently published national waste planning policy and guidance on the Proposed Main Modifications are also invited.
