Safer Hillingdon

Hillingdon is enjoyed every day as a safe place to live, work and socialise. Reported crime is down by 15% since 2004 and continues to fall.

People over 60 are less likely to be victims of crime than any other age group, although it is still important to take sensible precautions. Browse the links below to find out more.

Alley gating schemes
The council has a scheme in place to secure privately-owned alleyways against intrusion.

Neighbourhood watch
Hillingdon has more than 400 Neighbourhood Watch schemes helping to reduce crime.

Safety support for older people

TeleCareLine
Hillingdon's TeleCareLine now helps over 4,000 vulnerable people live independently in their own home, with the knowledge that help is on hand if needed.

Safeguarding adults
The council works to prevent the abuse of vulnerable adults and to support carers of vulnerable people.

Every ward in Hillingdon has a Safer Neighbourhood Team. Their role is to identify and tackle issues and concerns in your neighbourhood. Find out about your local team.
