Different types of housing for Hillingdon's older residents.

There are many reasons for thinking about housing in later life. You may be happy staying put, but need repairs or adaptations to continue living in your home comfortably. The council has developed a leaflet detailing areas such as sheltered housing, and buying a retirement home.

Council housing
Apply for council housing, and details on the home release reward scheme, tackling housing problems and more.

Sheltered housing
Approximately 1,000 council tenants across the borough receive this service which helps to ensure they remain independent with supported.

Housing support services

Private housing

Disabled facilities, renovation, energy conservation, heating and insulation grants for your home.

Helping Hand scheme
Age UK Hillingdon offer a support service for people aged 65 and over, which includes housework and gardening.
