Transferring your waste

There are two ways to ensure that your commercial waste is transferred correctly.

1. Do it yourself Transport of commercial waste

You can take your commercial waste to one of Hillingdon's Civic Amenity sites.

Make your that you that you receive a waste transfer note every time you dispose of your commercial waste in a Civic Amenity Site.

2. Use an authorised company

If you transfer your waste using a waste removal company, you must ensure that they are a registered waste carrier.  You should always ask for their waste carrier licence number and check whether it is a valid one by contacting the the Environment Agency on 08708 506 506. You can also use the Environment Agency online validation check.

If you have ascertained that the waste carrier licence is a valid one, ask for a Waste Transfer Note [65kb]. This document should cover each collection of commercial waste from your business. Some waste carriers offer a contact, however before you sign any agreement you must ensure that the company fully complies with the regulations.

Recycling trade waste

A large proportion of your trade waste may be recyclable.  This is often cheaper and a more environmentally friendly alternative to disposing of your waste.  Contact any of the major waste collection companies to enquire about their recycling services.

Find your local recycling waste site.
