Pedestrian access dropped kerb

A pedestrian access dropped kerb is provided to assist pedestrian crossing the road safely.

Pedestrian access dropped kerb

The inconsiderate parking alongside pedestrian access dropped kerb can:

  • make it difficult for people with wheelchairs and pushchairs to cross the road
  • make crossing the road difficult for older and disabled people
  • obstruct the view of motorist turning at junctions

We carry out regular borough wide enforcement against vehicles causing obstruction to the pedestrian dropped kerb.

Where a vehicle is causing an obstruction to a pedestrian dropped kerb, the Civil Enforcement Officer (CEO) can issue a parking ticket to the contravening vehicle without notification or approval from the Parking Services.
