Governance and data

The council collects and monitors data about our residents and employees to ensure we are meeting our statutory duties under the Equality Act 2010.

Governance

The Cabinet Members for Community, Commerce and Regeneration and Central Services, Culture and Heritage have overall responsibility for the direction and scrutiny of the equalities agenda. They receive regular updates from the Head of HR, Performance, Improvement and Communications.

The Corporate Management team is briefed by the lead officer for equalities on a bi-annual basis. They are responsible for agreeing the strategic approach to how we will meet our compliance under the Equality Act 2010 Public Sector Equality Duty.

Data

Data and intelligence helps us to make decisions about the services we provide to our residents and allows us to monitor representation of our staff against equality characteristics.
