Aims, governance and partners

Through working in effective partnership Hillingdon Music Education Hub will provide high quality musical experiences for all of Hillingdon's children within our diverse communities.

Key aims of Hillingdon Music Hub

  1. To play a leading role locally in ensuring that all children and families in Hillingdon have access to high quality musical experiences which celebrate the culture and diversity of the borough.
  2. To contribute to raising the musical aspirations of children and families through high quality tuition, ensembles, projects and events.
  3. To enable children to gain music qualifications which aid their musical aspirations and where appropriate career or interest pathways.
  4. To widen the range of performing arts opportunities available for all of Hillingdon's children through the effective partnerships.
  5. To work in partnership with schools in the delivery of the National Plan for Music Education and develop high quality widening opportunities programmes which aid progression and meet the cultural needs of the children engaged.
  6. To continually improve the quality and effectiveness of the learning opportunities offered, through rigorous self-assessment, creating an ethos of value for money, self regulation and nurturing a culture of success.


The Hillingdon Music Hub is run as part of the music and theatres service of Hillingdon Council, which is part of the Green Spaces, Sport and Culture team within Residents' Services.

The Hub's management is assisted by the Advisory Group, consisting of Councillors, schools and key partners.

We are funded by Arts Council England.
