Find a ride

None of the rides are a race so you can take them at your own pace. All routes will be fun, safe and interesting with the distance, duration and terrain of the ride varying according to the type of ride.

Our ride leaders are passionate and keen cyclists, they have been trained to guide groups of people and are employees of the London Borough of Hillingdon. They also have been trained on first aid to help if necessary.

Terms and conditions

  • All riders participate in cycle rides at their own risk.

  • The ride leaders have the right to turn people away should there be concerns over safety.

  • Ride routes may vary so please ensure you have an appropriate, roadworthy bike for the ride you are joining.

  • There is no need to book on the rides but you will be asked to register prior to the ride. Registration starts 15 minutes before the published start time.

  • Bring a lock and a puncture repair kit. The ride leaders should be able to assist you should you have a puncture and with any minor repairs but individual riders would be responsible for getting home should they not be able to complete the ride.

  • Ride leaders will try and take extra rest stops if required however as above if a rider is unable to complete the ride they are responsible for getting themselves home.

  • Children aged 5+ can join rides alongside a parent/guardian aged over 18. Children should be able to ride independently or on a ride along.  It is the responsibility of the parent/guardian to ensure that the child is of the required ability to complete the ride and it is the parent/guardian's responsibility to ensure the child can get home safely.

  • Children under 5 can join as long as they are strapped into an approved child seat or trailer.

  • A parent/guardian can only be responsible for two children on the ride, extra children will need extra adults.

  • For the purpose of the Hillingdon Guided Ride programme a child is defined as someone aged 16 or younger.

  • Although not a legal requirement, it is recommended that a helmet be worn.  All participants aged 16 and under will be required to wear a helmet or have the parent/guardian approval to complete the ride without a helmet (forms will be available for this from the ride leaders)

  • These rides are not designed for non-cyclists. Non-cyclists would be better suited to our Adult Cycle Training Programme where they would receive training specifically tailored to their needs.
