A message from Councillor David Simmonds

As Cabinet Member for Education and Children's Services, my priority is to make sure that every child in Hillingdon receives the outstanding education they deserve.

An increase in demand for pupil places is expected across the entire education system in Hillingdon right through from early year's places, primary and secondary schools and for children with special educational needs.  We have carried out extensive school places planning activities and forecasting to help us identify the priority areas in the borough where more primary school places are urgently needed.

This is an exciting time for Hillingdon as we invest £150m into our ambitious school building programme- the largest of its kind in London.  In doing so, we are effectively planning and commissioning our education services by working in partnership with schools and other partners to develop joined up solutions which make best use of the resources and assets available for Hillingdon's children and their families.

We are firmly putting families first by ensuring we continue to plan effectively for the rise in demand for schools places. We want to ensure that we are providing the very best education for Hillingdon's children.  That means building schools and extra classrooms of the right quality, in the right place.
