Councillor A Kauffman

2013-14. Find out more...

Mayor of Hillingdon, Cllr Allan Kauffman, represented the council at civic and ceremonial events during 2013-14. The Mayoress was his wife Lynne and his Deputy Mayor was Cllr Catherine Dann. The Deputy Mayoress was Mrs Rita Kilroy.

Cllr Kauffman has lived in Hillingdon all his life; he and Lynne went to Queensmead School. He has worked in the construction industry for 30 years and she is an education inspector. He is very proud of his two sons who attended Bishop Ramsey, and now work in architecture and media.

He was elected as a councillor for South Ruislip in 2006 along with Cllr Judy Kelly and Cllr Shirley Harper-O'Neill; they work seamlessly together, and with their team of volunteers work tirelessly for their ward.

Since becoming a ward councillor he has served on several committees such as Vice Chairman of North Planning, the Education Committee plus Vice Chairman of the Residents and Environmental Services Policy Overview. In 2008 he became Cabinet Assistant to the Leader of the Council, a captivating role; however this prevents him from being on any committee apart from Planning.

Deputy Mayor and Mayoress 2013/14 Cllr Kauffman is senior steward of his church, where he and Lynne were involved in the Scout Association for over 10 years. He has also been a governor at Bishop Ramsey School for 15 years. He has a passion for music and this year has enjoyed supporting Hillingdon's Music Service and the RAF bands. He is also a member of Harefield Archers and he and Lynne are members of Ruislip Lions charity group.
