The Day the Crayons Quit - Drew Daywalt

The Worshipful the Mayor of Hillingdon, Councillor George Cooper announced the winning title at this year's finale event. Pupils from 9 of Hillingdon's Primary schools performed presentations on their favourite book. 

The event was held at the Middlesex Suite on Thursday 25 June and hosted by children's comic, Mark Jones. 

The audience was treated to a magical talk by author Nicholas Allan, who read a selection of his books including Cinderella's Bum and The Queen's Knickers. Nicholas kept the audience spell bound with a wacky mix of stories, drawing and magic.

The Schools' Library Service, school teachers, librarians and volunteers from sponsors General Mills were treated to a wide variety of pupil presentations that included songs, drama and some spectacular costumes. Pupils also brought along some great artwork inspired by the books they most enjoyed, the models and posters will be on display in local libraries during July.
