Playing and learning to socialise program

Playing and learning to socialise (PALS) is a social skills teaching resource for three to six year olds.

PALS teaches children about:

  • greeting others
  • listening
  • sharing
  • taking turns
  • dealing with feelings of fear
  • sadness
  • anger,
  • solving problems.

Learning these social skills in early childhood is as important as learning numeracy and literacy.

The early childhood and early school years are when children start to make friends, learn to cooperate with others and begin solving social problems. These are the most important skills for every child's future development.
