Hillingdon Local Studies Service's archive collections

Archives are records that can help tell the story of a place, a person or organisation.

Most archives are written documents. But they can include maps, photographs, film and digital records.

Archives are proof of what happened in the past, and why. They can tell you about:

  • the age of your house and who lived there

  • your ancestors, and what life was like for them

  • how your local area changed over time

We need more archives to help record Hillingdon's history. We are particularly interested in:

  • records of local businesses, schools and families

  • items that tell the local story of the First World War
