Club accreditation

Clubmark is a nationally recognised cross-sport quality accreditation for clubs with junior sections. National Governing Bodies of Sport and County Sports Partnerships award Clubmark to clubs that have proven they are high quality.

Sports clubs are required to comply with minimum operating standards in four areas:

  • The playing programme
  • Duty of care and Safeguarding and Protecting Children and Young People
  • Knowing Your Club and its Community
  • Club management

Sports clubs working towards accreditation can receive support and advice from their NGB and other partners such as LA and CSP.

Benefits of achieving Clubmark

  • Club Development! By encouraging and attracting young members the club is building a strong future. The club will be well organised and effective.
  • The club will reassure parents/teachers your club is child friendly and safe.
  • As part of Clubmark, clubs receive help in developing the skills of those in their organisation. The club will get support for coaches and volunteers with free training courses.
  • Clubmark will encourage strong partnership working with schools, NGB's and LA's.
  • The club will receive greater publicity and exposure. Once accredited, clubs will be listed on a national database and in other directories, to help them attract new members and grow.

Hillingdon Club Accreditation Scheme

The Hillingdon Club Accreditation Scheme has broken down the criteria for Clubmark into three achievable levels, bronze, silver and gold. Clubs are offered incentives on completing each level.

Sports clubs can work through each level putting procedures into place that will benefit the club.

If your club is interested in gaining Hillingdon Club Accreditation and being recognised as a high quality sports club, then contact the Sport and Physical Activity Team.
