  • Description: Wooden triptych shrine with brass or copper cross. Hand painted onto wood. Inscription:

FOR /GOD KING AND COUNTRY/GREATER LOVE HATH /NO MAN THAN THIS. 1914-1918 (NAMES) /1939-1945 (NAMES). 

The gift of Mr and Mrs Hall. Made from Timber removed from HMS Brittania (cadet training ship at Dartmouth until 1903). Originally located outside (junction of Field End and Bridle Roads) superceded by the stone memorial HWM 009/IWM 218821 in 1921. Beneath the triptych is a book of Remembrance.
