Marble Plaque - Australian Imperial Force at St Mary the Virgin Church

  • Description: Rectangular tablet with two pinnacles each corner above, and two columns at each side. There is a semi-circular decorative motif above centrally and the names are engraved in three columns below. The whole is supported by two corbels. The Marble plaque is located at western end of nave. Inscription:

1914-1918/ TO THE GLORY OF GOD AND IN MEMORY OF AUSTRALIAN/ SOLDIERS WHO GAVE THEIR LIVES, FOR KING AND COUNTRY/ AND NOW LIE BURIED IN HAREFIELD CHURCHYARD (NAMES)
