Arts grants scheme

​Hillingdon Council is keen to engage with individuals, performers, groups, ​societies and professional artistes to ensure there is a wide representation of the various genres within the arts.

There is funding available for both individuals and groups​.  

Individuals

This grant is for individual art practitioners who are seeking support for a specific project, and require help developing their ability and level of performance.

  • Individuals based within the London Borough of Hillingdon may apply.
  • The application should support the development of the applicant within the borough.
  • Funds to set up new groups and projects
  • Individuals may apply no more than once a year
  • Grants are awarded up to a maximum of £800 for an individual.

Groups

A grant for groups located within the London Borough of Hillingdon who are seeking support in the development of the activities and the participants of their organisation. 

  • Groups/organisations based within the London Borough of Hillingdon may apply.
  • Provided the project has demonstrable community benefit to Hillingdon residents, professional arts organisations may apply.
  • If applying as a club/voluntary organisation, you must have a constitution or governing policy.
  • The grant must support the development of the group within the borough.
  • The club/organisation must supply account statements for the last 12 months with their application, clearly stating their overall income and expenditure.
  • The club/organisation must be open access.
  • Groups may apply no more than twice in any year.
  • Grants are awarded up to a maximum of £1,000 for a group.

Criteria

Groups grants are for voluntary and professional arts groups.

  • Groups based within the London Borough of Hillingdon may apply.
  • Grants are awarded up to a maximum of £1,000.
  • The application supports the development of the group within the borough.
  • If applying as a club/voluntary organisation, you must have a constitution or governing policy.
  • The club/organisation must supply account statements for the last 12 months with their application, clearly stating their overall income and expenditure.
  • The club/organisation must be open access.
  • Groups may apply no more than twice in any year.

Apply now

You cannot apply for :

  • Activities and projects that are not related to the arts.
  • Activities that provide no potential benefit to Hillingdon residents in the short or long term.
  • General running costs that are paid for by other income including your own funds.
  • Student projects if the project is directly related to a course, unless there is clear and demonstrable community benefit.
  • Funding for organisations and projects based outside the borough unless the project directly benefits residents of the London Borough of Hillingdon.
  • Buying equipment or instruments that would not be used for the benefit of the public.
