Hayes and Harlington young people finding their voice (8 October)
Young people from Hayes and Harlington will have a chance to discuss and debate issues of interest to them with local youth service providers.
Young people will have an opportunity to gather information, talk to local youth workers about services available in the area and find out more about and enrol for the East Area Youth Forum.
The conference will take place on Wednesday 17th October at Harlington Young Peoples Centre, Pinkwell Lane, Hayes UB3 1PB and hopes to attract between thirty to forty local young people. The timetable includes:
4.00 - 4.30pm Refreshments and music, with an information market place for young people
4.30 - 5.45pm Welcome and discussion groups on local theme areas
6.00 - 7.00pm Feedback from groups and a plenary discussion
7.00 - 7.15pm Short presentation: the proposed local East Area Youth Forum.
7.15 - 7.45pm An opportunity for the young people to meet project and youth workers working in Hayes and Harlington.
Cllr David Simmonds, Hillingdon Council's Cabinet Member for Education and Children's Services said "We are committed to continue our progress in working with young people and our partners to further strengthen and increase services for young people across the Borough. We see the active involvement of young people in events such as this as an integral part of this process."
