Ruislip Woods National Nature Reserve

Set in 726 acres, Ruislip Woods form a large complex of structurally diverse and species-rich ancient woodland.

Ruislip Woods National Nature Reserve is the largest block of ancient, semi-natural woodland in Greater London and include one of the most extensive oak/hornbeam coppice woods in southeast England. The site also includes acid and neutral grassland, ponds, streams and marshland.

Ruislip Woods, along with Ruislip Lido, are owned and managed by the London Borough of Hillingdon. We are fortunate in having several well-established volunteer ranger groups who work with us every week of the year, come rain or shine. There are different routes to take to discover Ruislip Woods.

Note: Barbeques and fires are strictly prohibited throughout Ruislip Woods, including Ruislip Lido. Please dispose of your rubbish in the bins provided or take it home with you.

We hope you enjoy your visits to Ruislip Woods. If you have any comments, praise, criticism or points of view please contact us.

Could you lend a hand and help preserve this beautiful asset?
