Assisted Instrument Purchase Scheme

For purchases over £100.00, the Assisted Instrument Purchase Scheme (AIPS) enables students of Hillingdon Music Hub to buy musical instruments or replacement parts minus the cost of VAT.

Hillingdon Music Hub work closely with well established instrument retailers who will provide you with guidance and advice when choosing an instrument using the AIPS. Rules and definitions of the AIPS are provided by HMRC.

Once you have visited or been in contact with your chosen supplier and obtained a quote for an AIPS purchase, please follow the steps shown below. 

  • Complete the AIPS request form, making sure to upload a scanned document or pdf file of the quote, including any delivery charge.
  • Phone the Music Hub Office on 01895 558108 to make payment, please note there is an additional £5.00 administration fee.
  • We will notify you when we have taken delivery, please arrange to collect the instrument/replacement part from the Music Hub Office.
  • Complete the AIPS transfer of ownership form.
