Renewal of marriage vows

A married couple can arrange a Renewal of Vows ceremony.

These ceremonies are often associated with a special wedding anniversary (ie silver, ruby, golden).

Perhaps a couple may have been married abroad and wish to hold a ceremony back home for those friends and relatives who did not attend the original marriage ceremony. Register Office staff will advise on various options for the ceremony (including a choice of readings, music, promises, etc). A "Certificate of Renewal of Marriage Vows" is issued marking the event.

The ceremony is non religious, has no legal status and is not any form of legal marriage, nor is it binding on either party. You do not need to live in the district where the renewal ceremony is to take place nor do you need any residential qualifications in any other district. You will need to produce your marriage certificate when booking your ceremony.
