Mobility and transport

Help and advice if you use a wheelchair or find it difficult to get about.


Hillingdon is at the forefront of initiatives to support mobility and access, including community and accessible transport, the pioneering brown badge scheme, and the Leader's Initiative.

Community transport
The freedom pass entitles those aged 60 and over to free public transport. A London taxicard scheme is in operation for people unable to use buses or trains. There are also dial-a-ride, community transport and local hospital patient schemes.

Motability scheme
The motability scheme was established to give disabled people the opportunity to own or lease a car, wheelchair or scooter at an affordable price.

Brown badges: parking for over 65s
Hillingdon Council is first in the country to offer parking bays exclusively for residents aged 65 and over. Apply for a brown badge to qualify.

There are a number of different Railcards available to member of the public.
