Voluntary services

During an incident volunteer organisations become a very important resource, invaluable to both the emergency services and the council.

Red Cross : This link opens in a new window British Red Cross

The British Red Cross is renowned as a volunteer-led humanitarian organisation which provides help for people in a crisis, whoever and wherever they are. It enables vulnerable people within Hillingdon, London, the UK and overseas to prepare for and respond to emergencies in their own communities. Following the crisis they assist people to recover and move on with their lives.

RVS : This link opens in a new window Royal Voluntary Services (RVS)

The RVS is a national organisation that assists all kinds of people, largely focusing on those of an older generation. However they provide an important role in the event of an incident, able to deploy quickly, providing professional support to those in need.

SJA : This link opens in a new window St John Ambulance

St John actively support many organisations during events both locally and nationally. They also assist London Ambulance Service during large incidents and are able to provide first aid training. 

RAYNET : This link opens in a new window Raynet - Radio Amateurs' Emergency Network

Raynet is a network of Radio Amateurs' who assist local authorities during incidents, providing alternative communication.
