Parking suspensions

Parking spaces can be suspended for a specific purpose:

  • to reserve a parking space for a specific vehicle to park whilst directly engaged in essential works
  • for a skip to be placed in a nearby parking space

Suspension of parking spaces will incur a charge which is payable at the time of application.

Operating times

The most common operating times of parking suspensions are 8am to 6.30pm, Monday to Friday.

However, in certain circumstances it may be necessary to suspend a parking space outside of these times and days. For example, a parking suspension for emergency statutory works or road resurfacing can be operational 24 hours per day, including weekends and bank holidays.

In any case, suspension warning signs will be erected on the nearest sign posts relating to the parking space where the suspension will take place. These signs will indicate the operating times of the suspension.
