How to apply for a suspension

Everyone who requires a parking space to be suspended will need to submit a fully completed parking suspension online application form.

We will send you a confirmation email when we have approved the suspension. Please keep this email safe as it will have details of the suspension and phone numbers you might need if an unauthorised vehicle is parked in the suspended parking space.

Notice period

We require the following minimum notice period to process your application.

Three full working days notice to suspend the following parking spaces:

  • pay and display

  • loading

  • motorcycle

  • taxi rank

For example, for an application received before midday on a Monday the first day of suspension would be on Thursday, same week.

Five full working days notice to suspend the following parking spaces:

  • permit holders

  • shared use (pay and display/permit holders)

  • business

  • disabled persons parking spaces

For example, for an application received before midday on a Monday the first day of suspension would be on the following Monday.

Seven full working days notice to suspend all types of parking spaces for the following types of event:

  • major road works/statutory works

  • filming

  • public events

For example, for an application received before midday on a Monday the first day of suspension would be on the following Wednesday.

Note: A bank holiday and weekends are not counted as working days and we do not accept applications over the phone.

Extensions

We require a minimum of two full working days notice to arrange for extension of the existing suspension. You will need to submit a fully completed parking suspension online application form and pay appropriate charges.

If the suspension is not extended before it runs out we will treat your request as a new application in which case the above minimum notice period will apply.
