Parking suspension charges

We charge a fee for suspensions in line with the Local Authorities (Transport Charges) Regulation 1998.

Suspension charges are currently set at £15 per space, per day (or part thereof).

Each space is 5 metres (or about 16 feet) long.

A full payment must be made at the time the application is submitted, ensuring that the minimum notice period has been met.

Additional charges

In addition to the suspension charge the following types of suspension requests will also incur licensing charges:

  • crane operations, temporary structures, scaffolding and storing of plant and material
  • filming
  • skip placement
  • special events

Payment method

The following payment methods are accepted:

  • Visa
  • Master Card
  • Maestro
  • Solo
  • Delta
  • Cheque
  • Postal order

If paying by cheque or postal order, please make payable to London Borough of Hillingdon. Only postal applications can be accepted with cheque or postal order payment.

Please note: that we do not accept cash payments for suspension applications.

The following activities will not incur a charge:

  • funerals (only the first three spaces are suspended free of charge, for primary vehicle and two accompanying vehicles)
  • accredited removal vehicles moving domestic or office furniture can do so without applying for a parking suspension, if a parking space is available.
  • this does not mean that the area can be blocked off by cones/barriers. The unloading and loading must be taking place continuously, or the vehicle will be liable to be issued with a parking ticket.

However a parking space can be reserved for this activity by being suspended, in which case a charge will be incurred.

A full refund would only be made in the following circumstances if the:

  • suspension is cancelled by the customer in advance of the suspension being put in place (ie suspension signs not erected)
  • police cancel a suspension for security reasons

Refunds are made by cheque and it can take up to 28 working days for it to be processed.
