Services for families in Northwood/Northwood Hills

With the closing of Hillside Children's Centre, alternative services are available in the local area and further ones will be developed over the coming months. A list of alternative services can be found below:

Children's Centres

Coteford Children's Centre - is located on the same site as Coteford Infant School and has two large rooms, a spacious reception and a consultation room. The centre offers a wide range of services to support families with every aspect of family life through transition into parenthood and beyond. The centre can be accessed via bus routes: H13, 282.

Harefield Children's Centre - is based in the semi-rural village of Harefield and is located on the same site as Harefield Infant and Junior School. The centre offers local families a wide range of services from stay and play sessions, courses for parent/carers with a free crèche, plus breastfeeding and parent support. The centre can be reached via two bus routes: U9, 331.

South Ruislip Early Years and Children's Centre - is attached to the Early Years Centre located behind Deanesfield School. The centre offers a variety of universal and targeted services that are fun and support children's learning.

Activities and services in the local area

  • Adult education courses - these can be accessed at Ruislip Manor and South Ruislip
  • Eastcote Library - Storytime, Tuesdays from 2pm to 3pm
  • Northwood Library - Storytime, Wednesdays and Fridays 10am to 11am (term time only)
  • Northwood Hills Library - Storytime, Thursdays 10am to 10.30am (term time only)

Breastfeeding support

  • Coteford Children's Centre (1:1 by appointment). Drop in Tuesdays 9.30am to 10.30 am
  • Harefield Children's Centre (1:1 by appointment). Drop in Wednesdays 1pm to 2.45pm
  • South Ruislip Children's Centre (1:1 by appointment). Drop in Mondays 11.15am to 12.30pm or Thursdays 11.45am to 12.45pm

  • Acre Surgery, Northwood Health Centre, Neal Close, Acre Way, Northwood, HA6 1TQ

Parent and toddler groups

  • Emmanuel Toddler Group - Thursdays, 10am to 11.45am. Address: Emmanuel Church, High Street, Northwood, HA6 1AS.
  • Pinner Playtime - Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays, 10am to 12am. Address: Pinner Methodist Church, Love Lane, Pinner, HA5 3EE
  • St Matthew's Toddler Group - Fridays, 9.30am to 11.30am. Address: St. Matthew's Church Hall, Hallowell Road, Northwood, HA6 1DW
  • Trinity Toddler Club - Thursdays, 9.45am to 11.15a.m.

Toy library

Africa Lounge and Hall, Emmanuel Church, High Street, Northwood, HA6 1AS - open Thursdays 10am to 12.30pm (term time only).
