Practical advice on switching energy providers and beating price hikes is available to people living in the London Borough of Hillingdon.

Hillingdon Council has teamed up with Energy Helpline to provide this free and impartial service, which residents can use by calling 0800 634 5184 or visiting www.energyhelpline.com/hh »

On average it takes just 10 minutes for residents to give their details and get tailored advice on how to make savings on their energy bills.

Anyone worried about the impact of price increases announced by gas and electricity suppliers is encouraged to find out if they could save money by swapping to a different company. Energy Helpline can also assist people with making the switch.

Before contacting Energy Helpline, residents should have:

  • the name of their energy supplier
  • name of the tariff on their bills
  • how much they spend or the amount of energy they use, and
  • their postcode

Guidance on switching to green tariffs, which help people to reduce their CO2 consumption, is also available through the helpline, as well as advice on the benefits of fixed price deals.
