Landlord grants

In order to unlock the potential in your property and maximise income you may be required to make some improvements to your property.

Grants are available to help landlords to achieve this and our dedicated team can help to advise you on what funding is available and help guide you through the process. An officer from the Landlord Engagement Team will visit and create a bespoke offer which will be tailored to your property and works required to bring the property up to a good lettable standard.

Typically, the types of work that can be funded include;

  • thermal comfort (eg loft/wall insulation)
  • central heating and hot water (including boiler replacements)
  • kitchens (new fitted kitchens)
  • bathrooms (fully fitted)
  • major structural works - including re-roofing
  • energy efficient double glazing

What's not included in any grant:

  • decorating
  • carpets
  • white goods

The small print...

  • Landlords are expected to match fund the amount of grant given to the property.
  • The property must remain let under a council letting scheme for a period of between two years and five years. Should you stop renting your property through an approved scheme before the time has elapsed, you will have to pay back the grant money in full.
  • Managing agents can apply for a grant on behalf of an owner if the property owner has given authorised permission (the council will require documentary proof of this).

Please note that under no circumstances should any grant aided work commence prior to your grant approval, unless written approval has been obtained from the grant officer. Grant funding is limited, so call us now to avoid disappointment.
