Do you want to donate an item to the Local Studies, Archives and Museum Service?

We welcome offers of material to enrich our collections.

If you would like to offer something to the museum or the archives please contact us before bringing in your items, and supply the following information:

  • a photograph of the item
  • approximate age or period
  • background information - brief summary of any personal stories and how the item relates to your life or Hillingdon's history

All offers of donations are assessed using a range of criteria.

Be aware that we collect items that:

  • have been made or used in Hillingdon
  • relate to the history of the local area, its transport, manufacturers, working life or domestic life.
  • are in good condition (otherwise it will be difficult to preserve them)
  • have good associated information (links with individuals or events)

The Museum does not accept:

  • items on long-term loan
  • items with specific conditions attached.
  • hazardous items

The Archive will consider loaned items, though donations are always preferred.
