Visiting the Battle of Britain Bunker

The bunker is currently closed. It will reopen on Friday 30 March (Good Friday), along with the new visitor centre.

Visitor centre

From Friday 30 March, the visitor centre will be open seven days per week (closed on Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Years Day).

Open times: 10am to 4.30pm, with last admission at 3.30pm

No need to book (unless there are 10 or more in your group, in which case, please email in advance: bunker@hillingdon.gov.uk.

More details will be added during March.

Bunker tours

Regular bunker tours take place at 10.15am, 11.30am, 12.45pm, 2pm, 3.15pm.

Tours last for one hour which includes a 35 minute presentation in the plotting room on its function during the Battle of Britain.  

The bunker is accessed via 76 steps and may be unsuitable for those with reduced mobility.

A brand new schools programme will begin after the Easter holidays, free of charge. Talks for schools and youth organisations are tailored to their age.

Getting here

The entrance is on Wren Avenue, Uxbridge, via St Andrew's Road and signposted from Honeycroft Hill. 

The satnav postcode is UB10 0BE (different from postal address). 

There is free, but limited, parking so to avoid disappointment we encourage the use of public transport.

It takes approximately 20 minutes to walk to the bunker from Uxbridge tube station, or 12 minutes from the nearest bus stop (St Andrews Church).
