Visiting the Battle of Britain Bunker

The entrance to the visitor centre is on Wren Avenue, Uxbridge, via St Andrew's Road.

The visitor centre is open seven days per week (closed on Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Years Day).

Open times are: 10am to 4.30pm, with last admission at 3.30pm.

No need to book unless there are 10 or more in your group, in which case, please email in advance: bunker@hillingdon.gov.uk.


  • Disabled parking spaces There are accessible parking spaces available near the main entrance, a lift inside the building and a ramp up to the building.
  • We welcome assistance dogs.
  • The exhibition and visitor centre is wheelchair accessible.
  • Hearing aid induction loop is available.

Bunker tours

To view the bunker, regular tours take place at 10.15am, 11.30am, 12.45pm, 2pm, 3.15pm.

Tours last for one hour which includes a 35 minute presentation in the plotting room on its function during the Battle of Britain.  

The bunker is accessed via 76 steps and may be unsuitable for those with reduced mobility.


Our cafe, run by local catering firm Daisy's in the Park, is open every day for tea, coffee, drinks and snacks.

During weekdays, the cafe will open at 9am (an hour before the visitor centre opens.)

A brand new schools programme is now available, free of charge. Talks for schools and youth organisations are tailored to their age.
