Creating a dementia friendly generation event

The Hillingdon Dementia Action Alliance is the group driving forward Hillingdon becoming a Dementia friendly borough.

  • Date: Tuesday 27 February
  • Time: 6pm to 8pm
  • Venue: Council Chambers, Civic Centre, Uxbridge

To achieve this we know that young people have a key role to play both in better understanding what dementia is but also in raising awareness throughout our community and supporting older people they may know.

Across the country many young people are getting involved through their school or their youth groups such as the Scouts or youth organisations. Nationally, there are over 170,000 young dementia friends of which 14,000 are Scouts.

Come along to discuss what opportunities there are in Hillingdon for young people to get involved in supporting older people living with dementia. This could range from awareness raising, to becoming dementia friends, to running an event for local older people.
