Presiding Officers (previous experience required as a Presiding Officer/Poll Clerk)
Poll Clerks (no experience required)
The fees for successful applicants undertaking election duties will be:
Presiding Officer £310 (approximately) inclusive of travel plus an additional training fee of £30
Poll Clerk £210 (approximately) inclusive of travel plus an additional training fee of £30
The hours of the poll will be from 7am to 10pm.
To apply you must complete the online form stating which appointment you would like and what polling duty experience you have had here, or with another authority. Please also indicate whether you have access to transport, as it is not always possible to place staff near their homes.
As always, all staff that are offered an appointment must attend a training session regardless of previous experience. These will be held at the Civic Centre prior to election week. There will be a number of sessions held so please indicate which time would suit you. You will be notified of your attendance time accordingly. If you are an experienced poll clerk online training may be offered instead of attending a briefing session.
Anybody who fails to attend a session/complete online trainingwill not be allowed to take up their appointment.
You will be expected to assist in the setting up and dismantling of the polling station at the start and end of the day. This will involve some lifting of furniture and booths.
