We are working hard to ensure polling stations are as safe as possible for the elections are taking place on Thursday 6 May.

There are 3 ways to vote and it's never too early to choose the best voting option for you.

  • in person - going to the polling station to vote on polling day
  • by post - completing your ballot paper at home and returning it in the post
  • ask a proxy to vote for you - if you are unable to go to the polling station yourself, you can ask a trusted person to vote on your behalf

Please note: You must be registered to vote - and the deadline to register is midnight on Monday 19 April.

If you want to vote by post, apply early, so there's plenty of time to process your application. 

The deadline for applying for a postal vote is 5pm on Tuesday 20 April.
