Draft revised SCI 2021 consultation
Public Consultation: 25 June 2021 - 23 July 2021
The council are consulting on a new and updated version of the Statement of Community Involvement (SCI) for a four-week period from Friday 25 June 2021 to Friday 23 July 2021.
The council will also be holding a virtual drop-in session on Wednesday 7 July and details of how to join will be updated on here shortly.
The Statement of Community Involvement (SCI) is a statutory document that sets out how the council intends to involve all sections of the community in the planning process and engage with local communities, businesses and other interested parties when developing and reviewing planning documents and determining planning applications. It establishes formal arrangements and standards to enable the community to know how and when they will be involved in the preparation, alterations and review of Hillingdon's Development Plan and other policy documents, and how they will be consulted on planning applications.
The council is updating the SCI to take account of legislative and policy changes since the last SCI was adopted in 2006. It is also being updated to include up-to-date consultation techniques and methods of communication, such as the use of digital communication.
Once the consultation period ends on 23 July 2021, the council will consider the consultation responses received to this version of the draft SCI, make any necessary changes to the document and then present a summary of the consultation responses as well as the updated SCI to the council's cabinet for approval. Following approval, this revised version of the SCI will replace the version of the SCI adopted in November 2006.
