Sponsored walks

In March, the Mayor of Hillingdon, Cllr John Morgan will be walking 26 miles in two days to raise money for this year's Mayor's Charity Appeal and to promote health and wellbeing - and he's inviting residents and local schools to join him.

Cllr John Morgan

The planned routes will take in some of the council's award-winning parks and green spaces, connecting with parts of the Celandine Route, Hillingdon Trail, London Loop and Trails of Discovery. Both walks will be mostly off road, covering some footpaths, stiles, hills and woodlands, and will include refreshment stops along the way.

Thursday 28 March

The first 13-mile walk will start at 9.30am at Northwood Hills Library. The circular route [3MB] will pass through Northwood Recreation Ground, Ruislip Lido and Woods, Swakeleys Park, Manor Farm, Pinn Meadows, Eastcote House Gardens and Haydon Park.

Friday 29 March

The Mayor will take on the second half of his marathon challenge the following day. Starting at 9.30am at Botwell Green Library, the walk will pass through Norman Leddy Gardens, Michael Frost Park, 10 Acre Nature Reserve, Gutteridge Woods, Dowding Park, Fassnidge Park, Little Britain Lake, Philpotts Farm Walk and finish at Yiewsley Library.

Sponsorship
