Pirate ship Ruislip Lido 2018

  • The newest addition to Ruislip Lido is an 18 metre-long wooden children's pirate ship which has climbing rails, play nets, and slides.
  • There is a water splash pad on the beach side which is open April to the end of September. The water is turned on at 10am and turned off in the evening.
  • There are two playgrounds, one either side of the lake.
  • There is a sand area where children can build sand castles and play.
  • No swimming is permitted in the lake.
  • The beach side area of the Lido is a dog on a lead zone at all times.
  • Dogs are not allowed on the beach.

Mini gauge railway

  • You can explore Ruislip Woods by rail.
  • There are two stations to start and finish the journey.
  • We advise that all visitors check the opening times and ticket fares before any visit.
  • The railway is not managed by Hillingdon Council, it is operated totally by volunteers.

Please note: Currently the mini gauge railway is not operating due to on going improvement and engineering works. Estimated re-opening is April/May. Please see Ruislip Lido Railway website for more information.

Feeding the birds and ducks

  • There is a designated wooden bird feeding platform area for this activity on Willow Lawn. Please only feed birds from this location.

Note: Only feed the wildfowl with nutritious seeds and grains such as wheat, oats and cracked corn. Vegetables such as potatoes and lettuce are also better alternatives to bread which is not advisable. Food should be thrown into the water to avoid encouraging the birds onto the banks.

Outdoor gym and running

  • For our fitness fanatics, there are plenty of areas for visitors to run and cycle (no official track) and an outdoor gym for anyone to use.
