Hillingdon offers most primary school first preferences in west London

Tuesday 18 April 2023: Hillingdon Council is ranked first in west London for offering children and their parents their first choice school on Primary National Offer Day.

The council is also third out of all London boroughs for offering families their first choice. 94.93 per cent of children received their first choice in Hillingdon, which is significantly higher than the London average of 88.57 per cent.  
 
Additionally, 99.36 per cent of applicants in Hillingdon were offered one of their top three schools, and 99.5 per cent were offered one of their top six schools 
 
Cllr Susan O'Brien, Hillingdon Council's Cabinet Member for Children, Families and Education, said: "This year the council processed 3,431 primary school applications, and we are delighted to offer so many children and their families their first choice. 
 
"In Hillingdon, we are committed to offering children and young people the best start in life, and I hope that a place in their chosen school will help them to make lifelong friends and discover the joy of learning."
