Hillingdon ranked first in London for primary school places

Wednesday 17 April 2024: Hillingdon Council is the top London local authority this National Offer Day (Tuesday 16 April), with 95.68 per cent of parents in the borough being awarded their first choice primary school place.

Figures released by the PAN London Admissions Board show that the council has once again exceeded the London average of 89.1 per cent to give 3,212 pupils their first choice of primary school.  

Hillingdon also achieved best in west London for applicants being offered one of their top three preference schools at 99.31 per cent, compared to PAN London at 97.2 per cent.   

The council received 3,357 primary school applications, with 99.49 per cent allocated a school of their preference, which is also higher than the London average of 98.2 per cent. 

Cllr Susan O'Brien, Hillingdon Council's Cabinet Member for Children, Families and Education said: "Choosing a school is a big decision for any parent, so I'm really pleased we have been able to give so many their first choice.  

"I am, of course, also delighted that we have come out on top for first choices and best in west London for top three preferences and would like to thank our education community and back-office teams for their hard work in supporting families in our borough."  

The deadline for parents to accept their places is Tuesday 30 April.
