Enforcement Guidance

On Sunday 1 June 2025 it became illegal in the UK to sell or supply single-use vapes under the Environmental Protection (Single-use Vapes) (England) Regulations 2024. This ban includes any 'disposable' vapes which are not refillable and which contain a battery which cannot be recharged. It is intended to reduce the environmental harm caused by the waste from these products when they have been discarded or disposed of, and to reduce vaping habits among young people.

The London Borough of Hillingdon is a regulator for the purposes of enforcing these regulations, and as a regulator we are required to publish guidance on our use of the fines, notices and other penalties contained in the regulations, and to consult on this guidance before it is finalised.

This consultation is your opportunity to give us your feedback on the draft guidance. This has been based on a national template.
