Cllr Ian Edwards, Leader of Hillingdon Council, said: "The longstanding spirit of respect and unity that defines our borough is facing a moment of challenge by the widespread protests against uncontrolled illegal immigration and the continued placement of illegal immigrants in hotels in our communities.

"We fully uphold the right of every resident to engage in peaceful protest and counter-protest. As these events unfold this weekend, I urge all participants to act with care, consideration, and respect—for one another and for the shared values that make Hillingdon a strong, inclusive, and connected place to live.

"I'd also like to gently remind everyone that alcohol is not permitted at any of the protests and that the council will be enforcing our Public Space Protection Orders. This helps keep gatherings safe and  peaceful for all involved.

"By looking out for each other, showing mutual respect and following instructions of those who are there to assist and protect us, we can ensure everyone's views are given the hearing and consideration they deserve."
