Hillingdon Council announces new cabinet member for Community and Environment

Friday 21 November 2025: Leader of Hillingdon Council, Cllr Ian Edwards, has appointed Cllr Wayne Bridges as the council's new Cabinet Member for Community and Environment.

Cllr Bridges has been a councillor since 2010, currently representing Hillingdon East ward and has 11 years' experience chairing scrutiny committees, most recently as Chair of the Residents' Services Select Committee, a role which he will step down from, effective immediately.

Cllr Edwards, said: "I am delighted that Cllr Bridges has accepted the position, allowing for a smooth transition across portfolios and bringing with him a wealth of experience and passion for resident services.  

"I look forward to working with my Cabinet Members as we continue to deliver the vital services local people expect and deserve and making the borough an even better place to live, work and visit."

Cllr Bridges has taken up the position from Cllr Eddie Lavery who was announced as the new Cabinet Member for Finance and Transformation earlier this week.
