Choosing a contractor

All works are tendered and managed by us and our approved suppliers are used.

The work carried out under your grant is guaranteed for 6 months. The grants surveyor will check works to ensure that they have been satisfactorily carried out before any payment is made.

All relevant permissions and certificates will be sought for any grants works, such as building regulations, planning permission, GAS SAFE/CORGI/NICEIC certification.

If you have not used the agency service, you will have to contact your builder directly to obtain copies of all relevant permissions and certificates, such as building regulations, planning permission, GAS SAFE/CORGI/NICEIC certification, and you will need to forward these to us for approval.

Repairs

We will only address grant-aided work that arise within 1 year from the completion of the work. Repairs arising after that time will be the responsibility of the grant applicant.

We will not be held responsible for repairs arising from general wear and tear, abuse or misuse.

Problems with a warranty or guaranteed workmanship period

If you have used our agency service, you should contact your surveyor. If you have not used the agency service you will have to contact your builder directly to resolve any problems.

Disputes

If you have a dispute with your contractor, you should contact your surveyor. If you have used the agency service, we will take all appropriate steps to resolve any disputes.
