Zena's fostering story

She said: "My first foster child was a two-week-old baby and I had mixed emotions, but the council's Fostering team was so supportive throughout the whole process. I turned up at the hospital to meet the baby, took one look at him and thought - this is what I'm here for, I'm going to give you the best start in life I possibly can. 

"Watching each child grow and seeing the end result instills a real sense of pride, but the biggest reward is seeing a child happy and safe. Foster carers are just normal people who want to help, and there are so many children who need your support. I really wish I'd started fostering sooner."
