Eating well

Following a healthy diet can help you to keep a healthy weight, as well as helping you to feel your best.

Eating a well-balanced, healthy diet provides your body with the essential nutrients it needs to function on a daily basis.

You can ask your GP for access to a council commissioned adults weight loss programme; this is called the Weight Action Programme. We also run a children's local lifestyle programme called My Choice.

Alternatively, you can use the NHS weight loss plan or check the NHS Healthier Families website for more information on keeping your children healthy.

The government has published an Eatwell guide document which provides information on the different food groups and portion sizes required for a healthy and balanced diet.

We also offer a meals on wheels service that you can use if you fit the eligibility criteria.
