FIESTA summer activity programme 2022

Summer activity sessions for children and young people in Hillingdon.

Our FIESTA summer programme is back for another year - with courses for children and young people in school years 1 to 12 (as of September 2022) in Hillingdon. 

Please note:  

  • The programme details are correct at the time of publishing this page but may be subject to change.   
  • Bookings will open on Monday 27 June (not Wednesday 22 June, as previously advertised).
  • Spaces are limited and bookings will be available on a first-come, first-served basis.
  • This year's programme operates a no refund policy - please read the FIESTA 2022 terms and conditions
  • Our Holiday Activity and Food (HAF) Programme will go live for bookings on Monday 4 July. Eligible families on benefit-related free school meals will receive an email with their unique number for booking a place on the programme. Bookings for the HAF programme will not be possible before this date.

2022 FIESTA courses

From Monday 25 July to Friday 26 August, we'll be running lots of fun sessions for this year's FIESTA.

Important: Activities will be held at various venues across the borough, including our young people's centres, community centres and sports halls and on different days/times/weeks during the 5-week period.

Here's a preview of what we've got planned this year...

Big Summer

School years 7 to 12
Fountains Mill Young People's Centre / Ruislip Young People's Centre / Harlington Young People's Centre

A 5-day multi-activity fun-filled and exciting programme, including dance, sports, arts, crafts, performance and cooking and ICT. 

Summer Fun

School years 1 to 3 and 4 to 6
Harlington Young People's Centre / Ruislip Young People's Centre / Fountains Mill Young People's Centre / South Ruislip Young People's Centre

A 5-day multi-activity fun-filled programme, including dance, sports, arts, crafts, performance, cooking and ICT. 

Basketball

School years 3 to 6 and 7 to 12
Uxbridge College (Uxbridge Campus)

Aimed at beginners, this programme will teach participants new skills and help develop their fitness. There will be fun competitions, drills, plenty of matches and prizes at the end of the week. 

Clowning Around

School years 1 to 6 and 7 to 12
Ruislip Young People's Centre

A 1-day workshop on the art of being a clown. Let out the laughter through play, props, and costume. Get your very own red nose and begin to create your individual clown. The day will include games, physical comedy, improvisation and creating small sketches. 

Cricket

School years 1 to 6, 3 to 8 and 7 to 12
Hayes Cricket Club / Douay Martyrs School / Harefield Cricket Club

A week of cricket that will provide coaching in various cricket disciplines (batting, bowling and fielding), which will all be incorporated in match play scenarios. By the end of the programme, participants will have shown the ability to follow and implement instruction. 

Emergency First Aid

School years 7 to 12
Ruislip Young People's Centre / Fountains Mill Young People's Centre
A 1-day workshop that will give you the skills to be able to deal with first aid emergencies, so you can help a member of your family, friend, or a member of your local community. 

Netball - High Five

School years 1 to 6
Newnham Junior School

A fun-packed programme that develops game sense and decision making (through great warmups, games and ball skills activities) and builds confidence individually and in groups. 

Netball Mini

School years 7 to 12
A fun-packed programme that develops game sense and decision making (through great warmups, games and ball skills activities) and builds confidence individually and in groups. 

Mini tennis

School years 1 to 2 and 3 to 6
Triplett's Community Tennis Centre

Aimed at beginners and designed to give participants good understanding of all the keystrokes involved in mini tennis. Equipment will be provided.   

Paediatric First Aid

School years 7 to 12
Ruislip Young People's Centre / Fountains Mill Young People's Centre
A 1-day workshop that will give you the skills to deal with paediatric first aid emergencies, so you can help your brother or sister, a friend, or if you are babysitting. 

Tennis

School years 7 to 10
Triplett's Community Tennis Centre

Aimed at beginners and designed to get participants started quickly, so they will have a good understanding of all the keystrokes involved in tennis.  

Safer Cycling Award - Cycling and Level 1 and 2

School years 7 to12
Ruislip Young People's Centre

Please note: This programme runs Monday to Thursday during the mornings only. As this is a Level 1 and Level 2 course, you must attend the 1st day to carry on with the programme. All days need to be completed to pass the award. Participants must bring their own bikes and helmets. 

SEND Musical Theatre Week

School years 3 to 6 and 7 to 12 with mild to moderate special educational needs and disabilities
Compass Theatre (Ickenham) / South Ruislip Young People's Centre

Participants will combine all songs and dances from the hit musicals to work and perform as a team in a variety of musical theatre skills, whilst increasing their confidence in performing in front of their peers.  

Street Magic

School years 3 to 6 and 7 to 12
Ruislip Young People's Centre / South Ruislip Young People's Centre
Do you fancy being the next Dynamo or Derren Brown? In this 1-day workshop, learn the surprisingly easy, yet clever tricks that you can perform and will blow the minds of your friends. Learn how to perform several magic tricks, the presentation skills that go with them, plus techniques and skills that world-class magicians use to amaze and amuse their audiences.
