We are reviewing Small Business Rate Reliefs to prepare for the 1 April 2026 revaluation, when new business rates and multipliers will be introduced. This review will ensure accurate rate reductions for all ratepayers.
You may have recently received a review letter about the small business rate relief you are currently receiving for satisfying the criteria for eligibility to small business rate relief.
We review business rate reliefs because sometimes people are not aware of the impact of changes to businesses, and the rateable value has on the percentage reduction in rates bills.
You can get small business rate relief if your sole or main property has a rateable value of less than £15,000 and your business only uses one property - you may still be able to get relief if you use more. Please see our small business rate relief page for further details on eligibility.
Before you start the review, please ensure:
- the property is not empty
- you are the director, sole trader, partner of the company or person of authority
If the above no longer applies, please contact The London Borough of Hillingdon Council on businessrates@hillingdon.gov.uk with details of any changes.
You will need:
- business rates account number
- property reference number
- rateable value of the property
This information can be found on your bill
It is also necessary to verify the use of the property and business type.
