Relevant area for consultation on school admission arrangements for 2027 to 2029
We are proposing to retain the current relevant area for school admission arrangements across the borough.
The School Standards and Framework Act 1998 requires each local authority to establish a relevant area(s) for school admission policy consultations. The relevant area is the area in which admission authorities must consult with schools regarding their proposed admission arrangements before finalising them.
Proposal
The relevant area for all schools within Hillingdon for consultation on their admission arrangements is the whole geographical area of the borough of Hillingdon. We propose retaining this as the relevant area so that it continues from the 2027/28 to 2028/29 academic years.
Who needs to be consulted depends on who sets the school's admission arrangements. This includes:
- schools where Hillingdon Council is the admission authority
- schools where the governing body is the admission authority
- academy schools, where the academy trust or proprietor is the admission authority.
