Standards Committee

An opportunity has arisen on the council's Standards Committee for an Independent Person to help promote and maintain high standards of conduct for members.

All elected members and co-opted members of the council work to a Code of Conduct and the role will involve you giving your opinion on any complaints against members or co-opted members that are considered by the committee. You will also be required to give advice following any investigation.

To be considered for the role you cannot be related to, or be a close friend of, current/former members or officers of the council. In addition, the successful candidate should be able to demonstrate a commitment to maintaining high standards in public life and have a keen interest in local government.

The Independent Person post carries with it an annual allowance of £1,674.73.
