Starting primary school September 2016

For children born between 1 September 2011 and 31 August 2012 starting primary school in September 2016.

Offer day Starting primary school 2016

National offer day is Monday 18 April 2016.

If you applied online; you will receive an email on the evening of the 18 April advising you to log back into your eadmissions account to view and accept your offer. You will not receive an offer letter in the post and all relevant information will be available on the eadmissions website.

For data protection reasons, the School Placement and Admissions team can not advise parents/guardians of the outcome of their application over the telephone.

Note: You must accept the offer by 3 May 2016 to secure the school place.

Declining your offer

If you applied online, you can decline the offer online. Please ensure you state the reason for the decline.  If it is because you are unhappy with the offer you have been given, you are strongly advised to accept the offer because it will not prejudice your higher preferences. Your child will be placed on the waiting list for all schools you named as a higher preference.

Waiting lists

All Academy, Foundation, Free and Voluntary Aided (faith) schools hold their own waiting lists. For Community schools please contact the Local Authority. If the school is outside the borough of Hillingdon you should contact the borough in which the school is situated to enquire whether the waiting list is provided by the school or the Local Authority.  Please do not contact the school in Hillingdon any sooner than 4 weeks from the date of this letter as waiting lists will not yet be available.

Appeals

You have the right of appeal under the School Standards & Framework Act 1998 against the refusal of a place at any of the schools for which you have applied. If you wish to appeal for an Academy, Foundation, Free or Voluntary Aided (faith) school you must contact the school direct to obtain the appeal documentation. If you wish to make an appeal to a  Community school please contact the Local Authority. 

Please note appeals must be lodged by 17 May 2016 to ensure that the appeal is heard before the end of term.

Alternatively if the school is outside Hillingdon, please contact the borough in which the school is situated within the next few days to obtain the procedure and the date by which an appeal must be received by them. 

Late applications

The closing date for on time applications was Friday 15 January 2016.

You can request a paper application by calling the School Placement and Admissions team on 01895 556644.

Please be aware that any application submitted after the deadline will not be processed until after national offer day for all on time applications.

Criteria:

If you are considering applying to a school that considers faith as a criterion you must complete a supplementary information form (SIF). The completed SIF must be returned to the school or address cited on the school's criteria.
